Knowledge Isn’t Application: Why Last-Minute IELTS Prep Fails
One common mistake students make is searching for tips without understanding the process of language learning. I cannot count the number of students who book a session, ask for strategies and tips for one day, and then study alone for the next five months.
Knowledge is different from application. Moreover, knowledge is distinct from skill and structure. You might know what to do, but not how to do it.
It is also quite amusing when students ask for help two days prior to their IELTS test—as if a single class can magically make up for months of neglect and indecision. The most successful IELTS students I have handled are those who, despite already being fluent, still hired a coach to help them refine their lapses.
