As for me, the subject that I have always got the highest socre in my school was definitely my favourite one. Guess what? It was history. There were two reasons why I liked it very much. The first reason was that I was really interesting in these big events happended in ancient time. Especially these myths which sounded really amazing but were unbelievable. Besides the myths, some items from those old periods that display in the museums nowadays often make people to be confused, because some of them were really hard to make even with modern techniques, such as the sword belonged to a king who lived 2000 years ago. It was still shining when it was unearthed. So, aliens are always mentioned while people visit a museum. The second reason why I like history is that people can avoid making the same mistakes that ancient people made when we face the same situations. The famous emperor Li Shiming from the Tang dynasty once said that history was a mirror which not only helped us tidy our clothes, but also could reflected whether we did were right or not, and help us corrected what we would do.

Recently, I went to the Chichibu Night Festival in Chichibu, a region in Saitama, Japan. It’s quite unusual to have a festival in December, and that made the experience even more special. Despite the winter cold, the warm glow of fire and the bright lights from all the food stalls created an atmosphere that felt surprisingly lively and cozy. The fireworks were launched into the crisp night sky, and they looked incredibly beautiful. I played a shooting-gallery game, enjoyed some takoyaki and yakisoba, and sipped on amazake, a sweet warm drink that felt perfect on such a chilly night. It was a very relaxing and heartwarming time. I hadn’t had the chance to go to any festivals earlier this year, so being able to visit one at the very end of the year made me genuinely happy. I’ve always associated festivals with summer—crowds of people gathering in the heat, music and excitement filling the warm air. That’s the typical image I had in mind. But this time, experiencing a festival in winter gave me a new perspective. There was something wonderful about people standing close together, sharing the cold, and enjoying the moment under the winter sky. The contrast between the cold air and the warm lights made everything feel magical. Going to the Chichibu Night Festival reminded me that festivals can be enjoyed in many different ways, and that winter celebrations have a charm of their own. It was a memorable way to end the year.

Yesterday, I went to an amusement park in Kawasaki City with my younger sister. We took the train to get there. When we had to change trains, I told my sister that we were getting off, but I accidentally got off one station early. Because of that, we arrived a little late, but we still made it safely. The amusement park was very crowded, and most of the rides had a 60-minute wait. We rode a 360-degree spinning attraction and a bicycle ride. My sister ate two kinds of French fries. I ate a donut and takoyaki, and I drank strawberry milk. We were both really excited, and we talked a lot while walking around the park. When it got dark, the illumination lights were turned on. The colorful lights were really beautiful and made the atmosphere feel magical. On our way home, we rode the gondola. We could see the whole amusement park from it, and it was amazing. When I took a video, the inside of the gondola reflected on the window, which was a bit disappointing, but the sparkling lights were still very cute.It was a fun day, and spending time with my sister made it even better. Next time, I want to go somewhere different with her and make more memories.
