🇧🇷 Why does Brazilian Portuguese sound so different from European Portuguese? Same language, but it can feel like two completely different worlds — and here's why. Pronunciation In Brazil, we pronounce vowels in an open and clear way — what you see is what you get. In Portugal, vowels are often swallowed or reduced, which makes it sound much faster and harder to follow. Vocabulary Some everyday words are completely different. A "bus" is "ônibus" in Brazil and "autocarro" in Portugal. A "train" is "trem" in Brazil and "comboio" in Portugal. Formality Brazilians use "você" for almost everything. In Portugal, "tu" is far more common in casual conversation. The good news? If you learn Brazilian Portuguese, you'll understand European Portuguese with a little practice — but not always the other way around! 😄 Have you ever noticed these differences? Let me know in the comments! 🇧🇷🇵🇹

Here are some useful pronunciation tips for -ed endings 📌 Pronunciation and stress patterns are two very important aspects of learning and using English effectively. These can also be some of the more challenging parts to master 📈 For example, many English learners tend to struggle with correctly pronouncing -ed endings. But don't worry! Once you know the rules, it will be much easier to remember 💭 🔎 Take a look at this resource to help you understand the sounds that -ed endings can make and when to use each of them: There are three ways to pronounce the -ed ending in English. The pronunciation is generally determined by the final sound (not letter) of the infinitive. 1️⃣ For words ending in a /d/ or /t/ sound, the -ed ending will make the /ɪd/ sound, which will result in an additional syllable. 2️⃣ For words ending in a /f/, /k/, /p/, /s/, /ʃ/, or /tʃ/ sound, the -ed ending will make the unvoiced /t/ sound. 3️⃣ For words ending in all other sounds (including vowels), the -ed ending will make the voiced /d/ sound. Try it out!
