Russian book recommendations What good Russian books can you recommend? Nothing over 100 years old or with a complicated style. The grammar and vocabulary mustn't be too complicated. However I am not interested in children's books. I'm enjoying some of Беляев's novels at the moment so anything similar would be great.

What's the difference between the constructions "Не то что ... а ..." and "Не то чтобы ... но ..."? What's the difference between the constructions "Не то что ... а ..." and "Не то чтобы ... но ..."? E.g. Is there any difference in meaning or style between the following two sentences: Я не то что согласился с ним, а решил не продолжать спор. Я не то чтобы согласился с ним, но решил не продолжать спор.
