When it comes to your communication in English - does an accent play an important role? How much? How can you avoid having your mother tongue language influence it? Above all, what can you do with the thought itself - "what if others don't understand my accent', "what if I will make others confused". For most people - they continue to run these kinds of thoughts through their minds not doing anything about it and the idea is to train your mind to replace them. Bonjour French learners, TV shows is a great way to improve your French and understand how words or grammar you learn is used in real conversations. Let's see an example from the French TV show "Jusque ici tout va bien" (Netflix) 📍 vocabulaire : *vous voulez boire quelque chose - would you like something to drink /хотите что-то выпить *avant qu’on reprenne - before we continue /прежде чем мы продолжим *un petit café, un chocolat - a coffee, a hot chocolate // кофе, горячий шоколад *va-te-faire-foutre - go screw yourself // пошел ты ** *voilà ce que je voulais lui répondre - that’s what I wanted to reply to him // вот, что я хотела ему ответить *je fais la maligne - I'm acting tough // я притворяюсь крутой *mais avant ça - but before this // но до этого *j’avais jamais mis le pied - I had never set foot // я никогда не была (не ступала) *dans un commissariat - in a police station // в полицейском участке 📍 grammaire: * avant que + subjonctif - before doing something is always followed by a verb in a subjunctive mood * ce que - what - when it’s not a question word you can’t just use que *malin (masculin) - maligne (féminin) - smart, clever, cunning, tough *j’avais jamais mis - I had never set - plus que parfait: avoir in imparfait + past participle, used to speak about an action that happened first, before another action in the past
