Grammar: have impact 'on' or 'for'? Thanks!
Hi, could anyone please help me with the following question? I am quite confused. Here are 2 examples about 'impact':
1. Unfortunately, it is not always the case that new things are promoted because they have good impacts for the majority of people.
2. 'Protect IP Could Have Far-reaching Impact on Digital Freedom'.....
Are both 'for' and 'one' correct? Or I can only use 'for' when the object is 'people'?
Thanks!!!!

I would still use "on" for the people. However I would replace "good" with "positive" - "a positive impact on people" :D

'Impact on' is the correct one.
