About me
Hello! My name is Takeshi. I lived in Toronto for two years, and now I'm back in Japan! I also spent 9 months in the States. While I was in the States, I spent my time recording music in Chicago, because I'm super passionate about the music industry. I'm addicted to improving myself. I want to meet people who are serious about learning Japanese and who I can share my vast knowledge with! I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Me as a teacher
I've been professionally teaching Japanese for about three years. My specialties are casual Japanese and teaching phrases that only native speakers use! I help my students avoid directly translating things, as this often results in creating unnatural phrases (e.g. When we hang out and friends look a bit bored, we don't say "Are you bored? We say "Do you wanna do something different? in Japanese).

I teach Japanese for a variety of use cases. For example, one of my students wants to be a flight attendant, so we practice a mix of formal and casual Japanese. Another one of my students wants to be funny when he speaks Japanese, so we speak casually and watch comedy together! I'm passionate about finding methods that suit my friends. (I call the people I teach, friends!)
