In these sessions we get familiar with basic Greek words, phrases, and expressions. Remember, everything we say has a specific pronunciation and context. We'll learn how to utter things correctly, then, both phonetically and grammatically. Lastly, we will look at the alphabet together and see if we can start reading basic words and small sentences. 

Disclaimer: Pronouncing words won't require that you write them in Greek. We will use Greeklish, a combination of Greek words written out in English (Latin) characters.

SURVIVAL MODE: everyday Greek

Are you going to Greece for vacation? Do you want to be able to communicate on a basic level with your barista, taxi driver, Airbnb host, local market cashier, and waiter? Let's do this IMPROV style...We'll set up all the scenarios you could possibly find yourself in and give you the options for what is possible. We are not at all limited to the options I offer above, just come with a couple things you'd like to learn and let's get to it!

Do you understand any of that? Well, you're not exactly supposed to. It's so funny to go over phrases that have made their way into a language from folkloric tales, niche dialects, borrowing another country's jokes, etc. They describe a certain point of view and the historical backdrop of the time they were coined. And who doesn't like an idiomatic way to explain themselves?! It adds so much color to conversations, presentations, and pretty much any form of speech. 
So let's slang, do some Greek role-play, and break down some songs!

Designed curriculum and taught Design Thinking to public high school teachers around the island. CDTIE is a non-profit organization I co-founded with a wonderful team, with the goal of empowering students to have agency in their education by training teachers to be vehicles of change in the classroom.

Taught body movement/flow using the elements of nature, as well as Hip Hop, Afro, and Caribbean dance styles to community members of the Bay Area regions.

Lead Design Thinking and Problem Solving workshops/experiences for business professionals who are looking for ways to collaborate better with their team members and clients, use creative methods consistently in their work, and figure out best practices in order to ensure they're making meaningful impact in their ecosystems.
