Understand the "Rules of the Game"
Before you open a textbook, you must know exactly what you are up against.

Academic vs. General Training: Ensure you are taking the right version. Academic is typically for university; General is for migration or work.

The Format: Familiarize yourself with the four modules: Listening (40 mins), Reading (60 mins), Writing (60 mins), and Speaking (11–14 mins).

Band Descriptors: This is the "cheat code." Study the public band descriptors for Writing and Speaking. They tell you exactly what the examiners are looking for (e.g., "Lexical Resource" or "Coherence and Cohesion").

In this C1–C2 course, you watch selected clips from Michael Sandel’s Justice lecture series (Harvard, publicly available on YouTube) as homework. In our lesson, we discuss and debate the ideas — and I coach you on advanced vocabulary, argument structure, and persuasive delivery.

We don’t just “watch.” We analyze how arguments are built: framing, counterarguments, examples, and rhetorical moves. Sometimes we replay 1–3 minutes in class to focus on key language and intonation.

Master Advanced English: Discussion based on Harvard's 'Justice' in English

In this course, we will discuss selected films by Frederick Wiseman, one of the most important contemporary documentary filmmakers.

This course is ideal for students who are interested in observational cinema and would like to improve both their knowledge of film, dramaturgy, and their English language skills.

Through guided discussion, we will explore how Wiseman portrays institutions, social structures, and human behaviour, while developing advanced vocabulary and confident speaking in English.
