Main objective:
By the end of the lesson, you will be able to introduce yourself, talk briefly about your origin, say your age and occupation, and ask basic introduction questions.

- Improve pronunciation of basic questions and provide alternative ways to express common phrases.
- Increase confidence when starting conversations in Spanish.

Teaching method:
I like to use the communicative approach as one of the best teaching methods, since it allows you to use the language from the very first minute in real-life situations. With this method, corrections are gentle and natural, without interrupting fluency too much. As a complementary technique, I will be using eliciting, guiding you to discover words and structures through questions, images, and examples.

- Learn and use vocabulary related to technology and social media in Spanish: aplicación, mensaje, móvil, redes sociales, notificaciones, etc.

- Answer and ask simple questions about digital habits.
- Improve fluency when talking about technology in everyday life.

Visual flashcards, short dialogues, model conversations, fill-in-the-gap exercises, video and song analysis, and optional homework (if the student agrees).

In this conversation series, the Communicative Approach and Scaffolding will be essential, as they help create an authentic learning experience and promote confidence throughout the learning process.

My Digital Life: Speak Spanish Through Real Conversations

In this class, you will learn to speak more confidently about their daily life using the vocabulary and grammar you already know. Through communicative activities and visual support, you will be able to describe daily routines, talk about habits using the present simple and frequency adverbs, and plan future activities using going to. The class incorporates scaffolding techniques to guide oral production progressively, helping you form increasingly complete and natural sentences. You will also work on listening comprehension through a simple audio that reinforces the structures covered. At the end, you will have the opportunity to use the language freely in a real conversation about your day and personal plans. This session aims to develop fluency, confidence, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively in everyday situations.

Como parte de una labor voluntaria estuve capacitando a equipos de traducción en diferentes lenguas indígenas que se hablan en Colombia. Estos equipos estaban compuestos por nativos de esas lenguas cuyo conocimiento del idioma español era limitado, por lo que se requería el uso de lenguaje y ejemplos sencillos y la utilización de recursos didácticos que permitieran la comprensión de términos o conceptos abstractos o complejos.

Como secretario de proyectos de traducción debo presentar a un equipo de traductores nativos información especializada en el tema que se está traduciendo. Dado que mi labor es con un equipo de nativos del idioma Wayuunaiki, he aprendido este idioma para poder transmitir y revisar las traducciones de diversas publicaciones que se hacen en este idioma.
