I will help you boost that fluency through a personalized method that engages your own expressive joy and enables and motivates you to build vocabulary based on the pleasure of words.

English lesson - Conversation refresher

This is a lesson that is meant to open your appetite for the literary and creative dimensions of language through a book (of your choosing or mine) I adore the spectrum of literary non-fiction that we are blessed to have in our world from so many people but especially philosophical works and literature as well as speculative fiction (which includes sci-fi and fantasy literature). 

Join me in the experience of the English language through the richness of books ! 

In addition to reading and discussion where we will work through some of the vocabulary unique to the book (period and genre), you will have a chance to work on writing in the style of the works we will review together.

Diving into a book

These lessons can comprise a range of needs - reading, writing / listening, speaking - but depending on if you wish to focus on certain material or you want to refresh your use and understand better certain English language aspects better, or want to be supercharged and reminded why are learning English in the first place and open your appetite.

Whether it's one lesson or a few,  we can work together to resolve the 'language moments' that where the excitement and understanding has been lost; present perfect, idioms, pronunciation (phonics and phonology).  

This is a change to figure out English issues, bring your own material or I can introduce material, but the purpose is to enliven, enhance and discover a direction for your English needs.

I will show you how important the somatic (bodily) and kinaesthetics (movement-feeling) are so vital to language learning - that genuine joy and fluency can only emerge through this the bodily awareness in the same way that actors learn their roles - think of Robert de Niro, Marlon Brando and others.

We will work together role-playing different interview scenarios until you feel the confidence like a seasoned actor going into a movie or theater role!   I have worked with many people from Germany, France, Greece, Japan and more.  They have overcome inhibitions and worries and even learned to feel comfortable with their doubts and nervousness by turning them into a real power. The way to succeed is like every good thing: simple and hard but rewarding.  

By tapping into your authentic feelings and not by trying to be someone you are not, or feel something you don't feel. In this way, with dynamic and imaginative role-playing, I will help you prepare for an interview presentation, a meeting or some other situation where you will be using English to express yourself in the best way possible.

The TEFL training involved a thorough review of the English language and the pedagogy involved in teaching English as a foreign language.

I teach primary and secondary school students in a variety of subjects from ELA / Math / History / Social Studies / Biology. The classes are public school classes in need of a substitute teacher or intervention teacher to help the students maintain and grow their understanding of the subject material and grow their confidence in learning in general.
