We will meet and discuss your future English classes. I can assess your speaking level and we will talk about what you want and need from the classes. We will discuss different learning methods and I can explain the options available.

For students who have approximately 6 months or more to prepare for the test and want to focus on improving in all areas I offer a course based around a core of official Cambridge materials that will include:

* Listening tasks with test style questions.
* Reading tasks with test style questions.
* Vocabulary -  useful words and phrases for each topic.
* Speaking - practise all speaking parts with test style questions on each topic.
* Writing - practise writing and get feedback on how to improve the way you write to meet the exam standards.
* Use of English/ Grammar - practise key grammar and vocabulary elements which will help you reach the advanced levels.

As an experienced teacher, I can help you quickly correct mistakes and improve your performance.  The aim is to get you using English as much as possible and then offer feedback on how to improve. I’ve helped hundreds of students prepare for IELTS,  and the Cambridge B2/ C1 tests, and now have ex-students living in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the Netherlands.

Exam Preparation Classes: IELTS/ Cambridge B2 First (FCE)

Improve your general English so you are ready to communicate effectively with native and non-native speakers in a wide range of situations. Move from a pre-intermediate to advanced English level. 

I offer different learning methods so we can choose the best method for you. We can use a variety of coursebook and associated materials, as well as using personally created and online materials. 

General English classes are ideal for most people who want to improve their English, especially speaking. All classes have a particular focus on speaking, with feedback on how to speak more naturally, and improve vocabulary.

We'll go through the course material together, and I'll give you feedback all the way. This type of class is a great way to include listening, reading and grammar activities, in addition to lots of speaking practice.

General English Classes

If you need currently need English for your job, or if you need it for your future career,  business English classes could be the best approach. They will prepare you for a wide range of business situations including interviews, presentations, negotiations, team meetings, sales meetings and much more. I'll guide you through a range of materials, appropriate for your level, that include audios, authentic business texts, role-plays, case studies, useful vocabulary and grammar, all with a focus on business language and contexts.

Business English classes are ideal for people who want to improve all 4 English skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing, while also becoming familiar with the more formal vocabulary often used at work. All classes have a structure, with activities and materials to help you gain the most from your time.

During each class I'll give you spoken feedback as well provide written class notes. This type of class is a great way to improve your English while also preparing to use it in a business context.

Business English Classes

CELTA teaching certificate.  120 hour course for training TEFL teachers.

I taught English online from 2012, primarily through the platform Buddyschool.com.  I taught several thousand classes through this platform before it was eventually shut down.

I gave Business English classes to groups and individuals within several multinational companies based in the city. In addition, I gave general English classes at the language institute.

I managed a team in the Vehicle Acquisition Department in the EU HQ of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. We handled various accounting and IT analytical processes for the UK, Ireland and Germany subsidiaries of the company.

I worked in the Vehicle Acquisition department at the European headquarters for this large multinational rental car company, in an analyst role. This involved managing data for the rental fleet and providing reports on it, including the current fleet make-up, upcoming vehicle purchases and retirements, and rebate programmes.

I joined this multinational rental car company in their graduate management trainee programme. This was a fast track programme leading to the management of rental car branches as well as other opportunities within the company.
