Trial lessons are shorter, reduced-price conversation sessions designed to help us get to know each other and for you to experience my teaching style. During the lesson, I will take notes and share feedback on grammar corrections, new vocabulary, and other English points that may be useful for your future studies. In this class, we can discuss any topic that you would like! You are also welcome to ask me any questions about English that you would like. We can have an informal conversation or we can focus on any particular topics that interest you.

Do you have questions about English that only an English teacher can help you with? Do you need assistance writing an email or revising an essay? Are there words or grammar structures in English that you are just struggling to understand? Or, do you just want to practice conversation? In this class, I can help you with whatever tasks you need help with.

Please note that I do not prepare materials for this class or assign homework.

Unstructured Conversation / Informal Tutoring 闲谈练习 / 非正式辅导

The International Association of Hyperpolyglots (HYPIA) is an international body representing the unique and growing population of hyperpolyglots worldwide. We adhere to the definition of Hyperpolyglots as preferred by the general consensus to mean “a person who is fluent in six or more languages.”  However, we expand our association to include persons who are conversant in eight or more languages. Although small, our association boasts some of the most talented emerging linguists worldwide.

Our faculty has over 40 years of combined experience developing EFL content with publishers, establishing language learning centers, advancing teacher training programs, and cooperating with employers worldwide.

Six semesters at Brandeis University, containing coursework towards my physics major, math major, and secondary education minor. I also took Chinese courses every semester.

This job gave me direct experience preparing and instructing lessons in a group class format to ages 14-17. I learned a ton about how to effectively format lessons to students who are struggling with acquiring new content and differentiating lesson structure to meet the needs of a wide variety of levels.

I have worked as an at-home one-on-one tutor for the past three years where I help students who are struggling with their classes, or are homeschooled, or need help preparing for an upcoming standardized exam. This experience has taught me a lot about how to meet students at their specific needs and tailor lessons based on what students find most difficult and what students could use the best practice on. It also has given me practice on how to properly pace for and assess student understanding.

Instructor of group and private fitness classes (aerial circus arts). This has given me lots of opportunity to develop my ability to connect with clients and provide customized lesson plans and instruction.
