In this trial lesson, we will learn about your goals in regards to learning English, as well as understand what kind of learner you are. I will use this knowledge in order to help personalize the learning experience for you.

In this course you will choose a topic to discuss and I will aid you to have a fluid conversation. I will create a vocabulary bank during our lesson via google docs or google slides to help you study and review what we have discussed in the course.

Improve your English through the myths and legends of ancient Mexico. In this class, we use stories from the Aztec (Mexica), Maya, and other Indigenous cultures to learn vocabulary, pronunciation, and speaking skills. Each lesson includes a short myth adapted to your level (A1–B2), key phrases, and guided conversation. By the end of the class, you will be able to understand and retell a legend in English using simple storytelling steps (first, next, finally). No experience needed — just curiosity.

I went to a teaching program from San Jose State University in California for the purpose of becoming a professional teacher.

I completed a graduate degree in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction at San José State University, specializing in bilingual education. The program emphasized English Language Development and integrating social justice principles into instructional planning and classroom practice.

I completed my degree in Second Language Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where I studied how people learn new languages and how to teach them effectively. The program combines linguistics, education, TESOL, and second-language acquisition theory, preparing me to understand language learning from both a research-based and practical teaching perspective.

I am currently a teacher for the Hollister School District and I am teaching transitional kindergarten. I have taught in transitional kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 6th through 9th grade. I have taught History, Math, Science, English, and Spanish as well.

I graduated from a multiple subject education teacher program from San Jose State for the purpose of teaching in an elementary school.

I work at a dual language immersion school in the United States that integrated culture with language learning. Students at this school study two languages at once in an immersion method.

I am currently working with students as a Transitional Kindergarten teacher teaching students phonemic awareness, letter formation, number recognition, as well as letter names and sounds. I am working with students from the age of 3 to 5 years olds from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

I work at a Spanish dual immersion school for 6th and 7th grade. I taught different subjects such as art, history, math, science, English language arts, and Spanish language arts. I taught ancient civilizations for history with topics ranging from ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Mesoamerica, the Aztecs, Mayans, Native Americans, Ancient India, and the middle ages. I have taught algebra and pre-algebra.

I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade level math for a summer school program called "Elevate Math in the silicon valley. This program helps students reach a level of math needed for the academic school year needed during the summer. I taught students different math strategies in order to help them understand the basic concepts of math.
