Trial lessons are for students who want to check if my teaching style fits their learning style and goals. In this lesson, students are going to talk about:
- their language goals,
- what they have done so far to achieve such goals,
- a little bit about themselves (This can be one's personal or professional background, whichever the student is more comfortable sharing.),
- hobbies and interests outside of language learning, and
- other things the student wants to share.

I will also ask one or two random questions to have a bigger picture of the student's oral English proficiency. What I'm looking for in this exercise is not the student's knowledge about the topic, but how the student phrases his/her thoughts.

This lesson is for learners who want to improve their overall SPOKEN English proficiency. 

LESSON FORMAT:

PART 1: One-Hour Conversation Practice 
Each lesson includes real-time feedback on grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary, word choice, and pronunciation, as needed throughout the conversation.

TOPICS: The conversation is built around information you share about yourself, your experiences, and your life. Your answers become the starting point for new topics, allowing the conversation to gradually expand and become more challenging.

You might be thinking, “But I don’t have a lot of things to talk about!” No worries! I’ve had students with whom I’ve had hundreds of hours of conversation, and we still haven’t run out of things to talk about. There’s always another question to explore, another perspective to consider, or another topic we can connect to what you’ve already shared.

PART 2: Reinforcement
What you do outside of class is just as important (if not more important!) than what happens during the lesson.

After each class, you’ll receive a PDF or a link to a Google Doc containing your lesson notes and your next speaking activity.

Each lesson comes with five speaking activities to complete outside of class, designed to help you continue practicing throughout the week and reinforce what you worked on during the lesson. However, you’ll receive these activities one at a time, rather than all six at once, so you can focus on one activity at a time without feeling overwhelmed.

The goal is to complete all five activities before your next lesson the following week. Ideally, you’ll complete all of them, but I understand that life happens. If you’re short on time, I recommend completing at least two before your next class.

This gives you continued speaking practice between lessons and helps turn what you learned in class into skills you can actually use.

Conversation Practice + Intensive Speaking Activities

This lesson is designed for learners who want to improve their overall English proficiency through an established curriculum covering speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary building, and writing.

I use ESL Pals as the primary curriculum, with courses available for:

- General English: Levels A0–C2
- Business English: Levels B1–C2

- an in-depth understanding of the descriptors for your target band score;
- practice tests that simulate the actual exam experience;
- regular assessment of your speaking and writing through assignments; and
- detailed feedback and a personalized plan to help you improve.
