The Certificate Examination for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages is a standardized test based on the Standards for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, the examination evaluates if candidates are qualified in the following five areas. They are Basics in Chinese Language Teaching, Chinese Teaching Methodology, Instructional Design and classroom Management, Chinese Culture and Intercultural Communication, Professional Ethics and Disciplinary Development.

This program cultivates students with a solid foundation in Chinese and English (or one other foreign language), a grasp of the basic theories of linguistics and second language education as well as a comprehensive knowledge of Chinese literature and culture and Chinese-foreign cultural exchanges, and the ability to teach Chinese as a second language.

A multidisciplinary course as a respond to the new European and global situation that is in need of professionals capable of designing, managing, and coordinating the activities related to the functioning of decision-making processes at various levels of government and to come up with original responses to emerging problems.
