In the trial lesson I'll try to get to know you a little bit, get to know your language level, your objectives and your learning style, which will help us to see if the lessons would fit your needs. So I'll ask lots of questions (in English, Portuguese or Dutch, depending on your preference), and of course, feel free to ask me any questions that you might have. 
* A1 students: students interested in the beginners course I'll also show the file of a "trial lesson", so you'll get an idea of my lessons, and if time allows we can do some activities together.

Do you need to speak Dutch, but only know how to say 'hoi'/ 'alles goed?'/'mijn naam is..' or even less? Did you try to speak the 'oe' 'ui' or 'sch' sounds but soon gave up? Don't worry! I've prepared structured beginners lessons for you, with clear explanations on basic grammar, sentence structure, pronunciation, short texts, video's to train your listening skills, games, exercises and many daily dialogues, to help you start your journey in the Dutch language, with a big emphasis on speaking. You don't need to buy any material yourself, as the lessons are structured in a Canvas presentation that I'll send you as a PDF-file before or after each lesson. Besides that, for each chapter I've prepared decks of flashcards for you, with the most common words and expressions of the chapters. I'll share them with you before each new chapter, so if you like, you can study them a bit and get the most out of the lessons. The activities in the lessons are aimed at making you speak in Dutch as much as possible! Each chapter has a few homework activities that you can do by yourself, but if you prefer we can do them together in class, it's up to you! The main goal of this course is to get you speaking Dutch from class 1 on! This course is A0 up to A1(+) level, so would only fit students that really start from scratch.

Dutch Beginners Course

Have you studied Dutch before, or do you already speak a little bit of Dutch, but you need some more practice and feedback to be able to improve? In these informal lessons you'll train your speaking and listening skills through conversation, and meanwhile I'll provide feedback on pronunciation and grammar topics that need some more attention. We can speak about any topic of your interest, or I'll bring (or send you beforehand) an article, song, video (according to your language level) to get you exposed to the Dutch language as much as possible, or if you like, we can train some grammar topics through games and flashcards. Of course you may also bring your own material, like conversation exercises from your Dutch study book, or questions for the Dutch citizenship exam (het inburgeringsexamen). My focus is to get you comfortable speaking in Dutch despite making mistakes, it's all part of the process! Step by step we'll eliminate your mistakes and improve your sentences, it's a matter of continuous practice! I'm looking forward to help you with that!
