Welcome to Italki for Kids with Teacher Amanda! In this trial class, I will spend time assessing your child's current level while getting to know their unique interests and experiences. We will talk about many of their favorite things. After this, I will decide which course would be the best fit for your child based on their current level.  See you in the classroom!

This course focuses on enhancing children's speaking and listening skills through engaging conversations. By participating in conversations with me, your child will develop confidence in discussing real-life topics, sharing experiences, thoughts, and opinions. They'll also practice asking questions naturally, just as in everyday conversations. Our topics range from family and friends to hobbies, holidays, seasonal activities, favorite places, and various forms of entertainment.

As their teacher, I'll provide gentle correction for pronunciation and grammar errors and demonstrate how to engage in natural English conversations. This course is designed to boost their English language confidence by using it meaningfully.

Please note that this course is intended for intermediate and advanced students with prior learning experience.

Chat With Me- Conversation Practice For Kids

Join me for Story Time for Kids, an engaging way for students to learn English. Your child will explore stories that mirror those read by native-English-speaking children in the USA. This course offers opportunities to build a rich vocabulary, enhance listening skills, master pronunciation, and develop reading proficiency. As we delve into stories matched to your child's skill level, we'll engage in meaningful conversations about the narrative. I'll encourage them to share their own experiences and pose comprehension questions to enhance their conversational skills. To ensure comprehension, I'll employ techniques such as Total Physical Response (gestures), modeling, and physical props.

English Story Time for Kids (READING)

Beginners English for Kids

This course is designed to help young learners master the sounds of English and develop clear, confident pronunciation. Through engaging stories, games, and interactive exercises, students will explore the relationship between letters and sounds, learn to recognize and produce key phonetic patterns, and practice correct pronunciation of common words and phrases. Whether your child is just starting to read or looking to improve their speaking skills, this course provides the essential building blocks for effective communication in English. Phonics and Pronunciation for Kids

This certificate qualifies me to teach English as a Foreign Language to adults, young learners, and also online. This course required me to create lesson plans and to reflect on the needs of my students based upon culture, age, location, and level. Course sections included the following:

The ECE Level 1 credential through Gateways to Opportunities signifies that I have achieved a foundational level of competence in the field of Early Childhood Education. This program covers early childhood education theories, best practices, and practical teaching strategies. This training is designed to introduce general child development, health and safety, school-age care, observation, environments for children, and the importance of the relationship with the family.

This degree prepared me to interact competently in cross-cultural settings. Coursework included foreign language study, history, global literature, cross-cultural communication, anthropology, and geography. I was also required to study abroad in France to obtain my degree.

I welcomed refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo at a local church in Wichita, often serving as an interpreter between French and English. To empower them, I initiated a Family Mentor Program, matching families with native English speakers for weekly English language practice. Additionally, I provided instruction in both large group settings and one-on-one sessions as required.

My experience as an infant teacher equips me with patience, adaptability, and empathy, valuable assets for teaching ESL to young learners. My ability to simplify language, customize teaching methods, and create a nurturing environment is enhanced by my time management, organizational skills, creativity, and classroom management expertise. My background uniquely positions me to offer effective and engaging ESL lessons for children.

This course provided training and expertise in teaching young learners. It focused on how children learn and develop and how this applies to the field of ESL.  This course also taught strategies for teaching reading, writing, listening, and speaking, to young learners.

As a VIPKID teacher, I taught over 730 Chinese students in more than 2,440 classes. My qualifications cover a broad age range, from 3-year-olds to 16-year-olds, and I can instruct across various levels, from beginner to advanced. Beyond standard courses, I'm experienced and certified to teach additional skills, including public speaking, advanced grammar, proper pronunciation, leveled reading, TOEFL preparation, and Free Talk sessions.

As a Cambly Kids teacher, I've had the privilege of teaching 217 students across more than 1,750 classes. These students come from a wide array of backgrounds, representing various ethnicities, nationalities, religions, socio-economic statuses, and native languages. Given this diversity, my teaching approach focuses on cultural competence, ensuring that lessons are not only educational but also highly relevant to each student's daily life.

In my role as an ESL teacher, I instructed young adult Chinese students to prepare them for achieving an academic level of English proficiency, primarily focusing on the intermediate level. Furthermore, I provided supplementary courses in listening and speaking, along with intermediate to advanced pronunciation. This position entailed the development of lesson plans and ongoing student assessment

As a personal ESL tutor for an adult Iranian student preparing for the TOEFL test, I provided targeted instruction in all language skills, test-specific strategies, and simulated exam conditions. It was a fulfilling experience, witnessing the student's growth and confidence-building for TOEFL success.

In my role as a reading teacher at BookNook Inc., I instructed students, assessed their reading levels, used technology for enhanced learning, tracked progress, and supported struggling readers. My goal was to foster reading skills and a love for reading in my students.
