Class description

This group class is for English students over the age of 18 at a B2 upper-intermediate level, who want to have a lively and thoughtful debate with a tutor and other students from around the world. Together, you can consider how to most accurately measure and define intelligence, as well as the potential benefits and risks created by artificial intelligence. You can also explore how general knowledge, memory, skills and imagination can be developed, sharing your own learning experiences, methods and motivations. I will send a short video before the class, which we can discuss together. After this class, you’ll have learned

This lesson will help you to improve your speaking and listening skills. The class material will introduce you to varied language which is relevant to contemporary society. You will further expand your vocabulary through an absorbing and stimulating discussion. Your confidence in your ability to clearly express your ideas will grow.

Meet your teacher

Helen Low

I can relate to the practical, everyday challenges of using a foreign language, since I studied Russian at University and spent a year living in Russia, where I first started teaching English. I'm also interested in history and literature, and enjoy the opportunity to explore language and culture with my students.
