Class description

This class will help you : -to ask questions in past tense -to explain a situation that has happened to you -to give advice to someone We will start with a warm-up activity, where we have to guess the questions to the answers, using the key question words "What?", "Why?", "When?", etc. Then we will work on some role play activities, where you will both have to ask and answer questions about a situation that happened in the past. Afterwards, we will discuss the topic of bad luck using high-level connectors (due to, owing, etc.) to explain why a situation has happened. In a role play scenario, in pairs, you will have the opportunity to describe a situation where you suffered from a case of bad luck and give advice to others.

After this class, you’ll have learned

GRAMMAR: -improving the skill of asking questions -using the past tenses to explain complicated situations -offering advice using correct structures (I would recommend, I would suggest, etc.) VOCABULARY: -related to the topic of bad luck where you have to imagine yourself in situations as varied as being a detective in a murder mystery or being stuck on a desert island. FLUENCY: -structured conversation through role plays where you can put the theory into practice, asking questions, getting feedback and offering advice.
