Class description

These lessons will help you learn advanced English vocabulary, including idioms, collocations and phrasal verbs. Learn how to 'damn someone with faint praise' or give someone a 'backhanded compliment'. Discover what it means to be 'stingy', 'dogged' or 'shrewd'. Don't let bad experiences 'eat away at you' and stop 'raking up the past'. If you 'batten down the hatches', you'll be sure to 'weather the storm' and you can be certain that there are better things 'in the offing'.

After this class, you’ll have learned

After the lesson, you will have learned eleven new words or phrases and have used them in context, studying examples and definitions. You will also receive a set of flashcards to help you memorise the new vocabulary. These lessons will help you feel more confident when communicating with native speakers and will help you understand more when you read books and watch movies.
