Class description

“There is only one way to be happy, and that is to stop worrying about things we cannot control.” – Epictetus The Stoics argue that most suffering comes not from events, but from our reactions to them. They believe that virtue, discipline, and rational judgement matter more than success, reputation, or wealth. Is that a realistic way to live? Can you stay calm when you face things you cannot influence? And how much of your life do you actually control? In this lesson we’ll examine the core principles of Stoicism, explore how desire and aversion shape our decisions, and discuss whether emotional discipline is true strength or just an unrealistic hope.
