Class description
Have you ever looked at an old photograph and felt like you could step right back into that moment? In this interactive session, we aren’t just looking at pictures; we are reclaiming our stories.
Using the Spanish Imperfect tense, we will explore the "how" and the "why" of our past lives. Students will share a personal photo and become the protagonists of their own history. Your classmates will act as interviewers, diving deep into the context of your memories to discover who you were, what you did, and how you felt during those "wonderful years."
What we will do:
- Share: Present a meaningful photo from your past.
- Inquire: Ask curious questions about locations, habits, and feelings.
- Practice: Master the use of the Imperfect tense to describe routines and ongoing actions in the past.
- Connect: Find common ground through shared experiences and nostalgia.
Note: Please bring 1 or 2 photos (digital or physical) that hold a special memory for you!
After this class, you’ll have learned
- Describe past routines: Use the Imperfect tense to talk about habits and hobbies they used to have.
- Set the scene: Narrate the background of a story, including age, location, and feelings.
- Ask meaningful questions: Formulate inquiries in the past to discover details about others' lives.
- Improve oral fluency: Engage in a natural, spontaneous conversation about personal history.
- Master irregulars: Correcty use high-frequency irregular verbs like ser, ir, and ver in context.

I believe language learning is a journey of discovery. Years ago, I started encouraging students to reflect on how language works—not just to learn Spanish, but to understand their own native tongue.
Today, I use a metacognitive approach: I help you "think about your thinking" to improve faster. I’m a creative, practical, and patient teacher. I love creating activities on the spot to keep things dynamic while breaking down complex topics into simple, clear ideas.
By focusing on how you learn as much as what you learn, I create a safe space for you to experiment and grow. My goal is to bridge the gap between struggling and mastering Spanish with confidence.
