Class description
Language cannot be separated from our culture. We take it everywhere in our country and abroad. Being able to discuss and share these valuable artifacts from our countries makes the experience of speaking with others exciting and a learning process. As we speak, we are sharing our language, our culture, and who we are. In this lesson, we learn about customs and traditions from around the world while creating our own dialogues about who we are and the beliefs, customs, traditions, and superstitions we have. We'll work together in this class to cover several grammatical structures for conveying ideas about our cultures, complete several small activities, and then develop our own cultural presentation at the end to share with everyone.
After this class, you’ll have learned
Students will learn how to target specific and easily retained grammar and vocabulary that tells about their culture and describes other cultures. Grammar in this lesson will cover "for + noun" and "that + noun + verb" in addition to infinitives to create longer and more meaningful ways to discuss local customs, traditions, beliefs, and superstitions!
