Class description

Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are technologies that some have claimed will change the way we work and live our lives. So far, however, they have mostly been limited to expensive setups with specialized purposes and gaming. This may change with recent advances in technology and the advent of things like spatial computing. The question remains, though: will these technologies be the future? Will humans spend time more time interacting in virtual worlds? What are some benefits of these technologies becoming more common? What are some disadvantages? This group class will be a group discussion about these very questions. A brief overview of VR and AR will be given as well as recent developments that may change things in the future. Students are encouraged to ask their own question. You do not have to be a technology expert to participate in this group class, either!
