***Please note that students must have their own copy of the book. Students must also be able to read and understand the story to become members of this club.*** Chapters will be assigned weekly. Each week, we will explore a different topic, as it relates to the chapters we have read. Students will participate in a guided discussion of each chapter. We will discuss vocabulary words and our understanding of what has taken place. Students will also study past tense verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs. They will discuss, explore, and learn about settings and characters, cause and effect, sequencing, and foreshadowing. While this is a book club, it is also an English class. Attention will be paid to spoken grammar and vocabulary will be expanded. Classes will take place in my Koala Go classroom. Koala Go will be an amazing learning platform for such an adventure, as it offers us a place to physically explore the setting and characters of this novel.
