Have you ever wondered what it is to learn a new language as a kid? Their process is fun, dynamic and most of the times guessing what adults 'really meant' to then quickly learn and adapt to get their message through: simply said, to communicate. Theater is a fascinating tool for this as it allows adults to walk in the shoes of a child while learning a new language and it is the foundation methodology of the course you are about the enroll to. It is a 5 lessons course of 60 minutes each for students who have basic knowledge of Spanish and want to put thir knowledge into practice. The course is taught through drama techniques and the language used will be mainly Spanish. Theater games and role plays situations will be the ground of play and practice of Spanish language. How does it work? - Every lesson has on one hand, a pre vocabulary material that you are asked to study before hand and bring it in class to be of help during the exercices, as well as a homework after the lesson as a follow up on the material learned in class. - Lessons start with a short physical warm up (such as warming up the voice and pronunciation of specific words) and a revision of the previous class. Then we continue with the new vocabulary and practice. What is special about the course Spanish through theater ? Theater implies gestures, sounds, movements, caracter role plays i.e. where learning a new language becomes a terrain of practice and fun. Through repetition but also through the awakening of different senses ( visual, audition, movement) the learning process of a language is more dynamic and allows students to better memorise words, linguistic structures, or get acquainted with the musicality of the language. Furthermore, it gives students confidence in using the language as well as practicing the language in different contextual situations. Overall, it prepares one for the use of the language in real life situations.
