IN THIS COURSE:
We're talking about mass school shootings. It consists of 2 classes focusing on what we think causes them and what can be done to prevent them.

THIS COURSE IS FOR:
Those interested in discussing problems in our world and possible solutions who have good reading, listening and speaking skills, like learning through reading and watching videos and like working in small groups.

Mass School Shooting Causes & Prevention - CAUSES  

INTRODUCTION:
We're talking about mass school shootings and what we think causes them. 

IN THIS CLASS:
(1)	You will watch a short video portraying a school shooting.
(2)	You will read an article about school shootings.
(3)	You will discuss possible causes of mass school shootings.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Solution Series Student Pack (download from lesson page)
•	Solution Series: Vocabulary Sheet “Mass School Shootings”
•	“School shootings: What we know about them, and what we can do to prevent them” Article
•	Solution Series: Mass School Shooting Note-Taking Sheet 
“Safety” Short Video (shown during class by teacher)

PREPARATION:
(1)	Decide the name you prefer the teacher and group members to call you during the session, and enter it as your Display Name on Zoom.
(2)	Review vocabulary sheet for article before class.
(3)	Gather any information you have researched related to the topic that you would like to share in the class. This may include but is not limited to: snippets of articles, audio and video clips, websites, etc.

(2) You will work in small groups to create a prevention plan.
