This lesson is based on a report which looks at the increase in people classed as "millionaires" during the Covid-19 pandemic, and an article on both the increase in the wealth of billionaires during the pandemic and the increase in the number of people who have fallen into poverty. Exercises focus on related vocabulary, listening and reading skills and listening and reading comprehension. Students will have the opportunity to discuss and write an essay about the issues raised in the lesson. This group lesson is for adult English students (B2-C1) who want to speak about a specific topic with a professional teacher and other students from all over the world! We will start by doing a warm-up game, work in pairs, and discuss the chosen topic. Please note: This group class is for students between the levels of B2-C1. Please read the worksheet and complete the tasks before the lesson starts. I will ask my students to read the article so please be prepared. The goal of each lesson is to discuss a specific topic, expand vocabulary, and improve the student's confidence as an English speaker in a relaxed and fun environment. Since this is a business class, I encourage each student to speak openly with other students. Ask questions and share your opinions! Due to this being a group lesson, students will not be corrected individually. Instead, collective corrections will be noted and sent to each student at the end of the class.
