Every institution in the modern West: governments, corporations, universities and media organisations, claims to champion diversity, inclusion and equality. But whose diversity? Included on what terms? Equal by whose definition? This lesson examines how a set of ideas, that describe themselves as liberating, have become 'approved thoughts', deviation from which can result in claims of prejudice, immorality and ignorance. We'll look at real programs from Harvard, the BBC, and the world's largest investment banks, organisations that treat people differently based on race, sex, and sexuality in the name of fairness.
