Class description
Interested in discussing what's new in science or technology? What is the latest pseudoscience fad? Curious about some unconventional wisdom? This group class aims to have a relaxed discussion about things that have been happening in the scientific and technological worlds. Ahead of the class time, the teacher will select a few topics based on what has been happening or reported recently. Accompanying articles will be sent to the students before class. There will also be a chance for students are also welcome to bring up anything they have recently learned or heard about, as well. The teacher may introduce some ideas, concepts, or new vocabulary that are appropriate for the discussion. So, you might learn something new, too!
Topics can include everything from the latest happenings in astronomy, biology, chemistry, medicine, or pseudoscience to the newest tech gadget on the market. You do not need to be a scientist or technology expert to take this class, either! Topics will be discussed in a way that is approachable for everyone.
This class is intended for students who have a level of B2 or higher. The teacher will note any corrections in the chat when necessary and may do so orally, as well, if appropriate.

The aims of this class are:
• Have a group discussion with people around the world about recent developments in technology.
• Practice your listening skills by listening to other people.
• Feel more comfortable interacting with others.
• Learn some useful vocabulary and information in English related to science and technology topics.
This course is aimed at upper intermediate English learners (B2 or higher). Individual correction of students’ English will occur during the class when it is necessary either orally (when appropriate) or by chat. Feedback can also be provided after the class has completed at the request of the student.
