Class description

You will need to read the section of the book we are using today before you attend the class. It will take you 30 to 45 minutes to read. The text is included. In this class, we will engage in a discussion of the book "The Pearl by John Steinbeck." We will analyse the book, examine challenging vocabulary, and also read a portion of it together if there is time available.

After this class, you’ll have learned

"The Pearl" by John Steinbeck is a novella set in a small fishing village in Baja California, Mexico. It tells the story of Kino, a poor pearl diver, his wife Juana, and their infant son, Coyotito. Their lives are forever changed when Kino discovers a magnificent pearl, which he believes will bring wealth and happiness to his family.

I AM NOT TEACHING AT PRESENT: I am a highly qualified teacher with almost 30 years of experience, having taught students from ages 6 to 80. I hold a BSc (hons) degree, a Masters in Education, a PGCE teaching qualification, as well as a TEFL certificate and the ILETS teaching qualification. As a teacher, I am known for being calm, supportive, happy, and positive in my approach to teaching.
