Class description
Class 4 of 8 - Reading Assignment - Chapter 4
Meet "The Culture Map" by Erin Meyer, a book I've recommended to 250+ students. This book describes 8 key cultural differences among the world's countries. Erin analyzes our cultural approach to speaking, giving negative feedback, power structures, persuasion, decision-making, confrontation, and our approach to time.
A chapter is dedicated to each subject and includes a graph mapping how different countries relate to each other, real world examples, and tips on how to navigate each subject when working cross-culturally.
It is highly likely you will read something that reminds you of a past event. It is even more likely you will walk away with new language to describe key cultural differences and strategies to work in a cross-cultural environment.
