Class description

We all have an identity, but the way we present it shapes how others see us, and how we see ourselves. What's the difference between calling yourself British-Japanese and just Japanese? In this class we'll examine the layered nature of identity, ethnicity, nationality, gender, race and more. Then we'll debate how it's constructed, perceived and politicised in different societies. Is describing yourself as a heterosexual, white, English man a neutral fact, or a political statement? My full italki profile: https://www.italki.com/en/teacher/8425021
