In this story, an aeroplane named Seven is using a secret energy source. But the assistant engineer might know what it is. 
This is Part 3 of 5. 

It was 12:00pm and Seven was playing cards with Zack the pilot in their hangar.
 
Seven picked up a few cards and slammed five down on the table. “Once again, I’m winning, Zack. When will you ever learn? You can’t beat me—Hah!” 

Zack, looking frustrated, said, “Next time I’ll beat you. I’m going to practice online. You’ll see. Next time.” 

Tobee arrived for work and went straight to the office. He noticed the security camera system was blinking, alerting some kind of action needed. Tobee took care of it and turned to exit the office. 

But what was this? In front of him there were several huge barrels labelled ‘7-Up’. Tobee thought that it was illegal to use 7-Up. He understood it was a cheaper fuel source, but he believed it wasn’t worth the risk. Tobee believed in the government’s decision to ban 7-Up as a fuel source. 

Tobee stepped out into the main hangar and confronted Zack. 

“Boss? There are seven giant barrels of 7-Up in the office. Have you been giving it to Seven? You know that’s illegal, right? Why are you doing this? You’re risking your entire business.” 

Zack looked undeniably suspicious and worried. He struggled to speak confidently and said, “Oh that… that’s left over from my son’s 14th birthday party last week. Want some?” 

Tobee said, “Uh… okay. But… I’m a bit… hurt that you didn’t invite me…” 

Zack laughed nervously. “Yes… I only just invited family and friends… Sorry, Tobee. Maybe next time. Uhh, feel free to take some home if you want.” 

As Tobee left the main hangar, Seven whispered to Zack, “Phew, that was a close one. Thankfully he bought it.” 

Tobee didn’t believe Zack’s improvised story, but he tried to play along. He didn’t want Zack catching onto him. Tobee thought that he’d discover the truth for himself.

眉- Méi

 "目" - mù - eye, the upper part of 眉- Méi could refer to "毛" - máo", meaning "hair" or "fur." 
The combination represents the hairs above the eyes, hence "eyebrows." 
This formation suggests the character's meaning directly and visually connects it to the facial feature it represents.

用法 (Usage)

 As a noun, "眉" directly refers to the eyebrows. 
 眉毛 - méi mao - eyebrows

例如 (For example): 
他的眉毛很浓。- Tā de méi mao hěn nóng  
(His eyebrows are very thick.)

However, it is often used metaphorically in Chinese to denote expressions or emotions conveyed by the movement of the eyebrows, such as surprise, concern, or anger.

For instance, 眉头- méi tóu - the inner brow, refers to the area where the eyebrows begin, typically located above the inner corners of the eyes.

For example, "皱眉头" - zhòu méi tóu, means "to furrow one's brow," indicating worry or deep thought..

Idiomatic Expressions: "眉- Méi" appears in various idioms that use eyebrows metaphorically to talk about emotions or aesthetic qualities.

例如 (For example): 
眉开眼笑 - méi kāi yǎn xiào - lit. "eyebrows rise and eyes smile," meaning to smile joyfully or beam with happiness

眉飞色舞 - méi fēi sè wǔ - lit. "eyebrows fly and colors dance," used to describe vivid, expressive facial gestures of excitement or happiness

Metaphorical Usage: In poetic or artistic contexts, "眉" can metaphorically relate to things that resemble the shape or curve of eyebrows.

例如：(For example): 
山的轮廓好像一道眉形。-Shān de lún kuò hǎo xiàng yí dào méi xíng 。
(The outline of the mountain resembles the shape of an eyebrow.)

こんにちは！
Japanese daily life podcast のAtsushiです。
このPodcastは、日本語を勉強しているみなさんに向けたPodcastです。

前回に続いて、海外旅行の話をします。

もう出てしまいましたが、乗り継ぎでシンガポールにいました！久しぶりの出国だったので、めっちゃ緊張しました。

そして、いろいろと違いました。
デジタル化、少人数化が進んでいると感じました。


アプリを使って、チェックイン、搭乗までスムーズにいけました。

国内でJet starを使って、北海道と大阪の間を行き来しています。ですので、アプリを使って、チェックインをして、搭乗券がQRコードだけでいけるのは知っていました。

それで今回はシンガポール航空でチケットを取ったので、アプリをダウンロードして、予約番号などを入力すると、QRコードをiPhoneのWalletに追加することができました。

ここまでできると国内とほぼ同じなので安心ですね。

チェックインもアプリで事前にオンラインでできたので、荷物を預ける時も、時間が短くてすみました。


出国手続きをするところも、前は結構並んだ記憶がありましたが、遅い時間というのもあると思いますが、今回はあっという間でした。というのも、機械にパスポートを読み取らせて、同じ人物がカメラで自動でチェックされます。

それがクリアになれば、そのままもう出国、という感じでした。本当にあっという間で少しビックリしました。


それと、シンガポールの入国審査も事前にオンラインですませておくことができました。今回は乗り換えだけなんですが、少しだけ時間があるので、ぼくの日本語レッスンを受けてくれている、シンガポールの方と会いました。
その話もまたしますね！

事前にオンラインで済ませておくことがありますが、その分、旅行の時は待ち時間なども少なく、とてもスムーズで快適だなと思いました。

本当にいい時代ですね。
