This research changed my life when I first learned about it over 10 years ago, giving me a true sense of what culture is, and what the subtle differences in culture are between countries at the fundamental level. More than just knowing that one country or culture does something 'this' way and another does it 'that' way, learning about Hofstede's dimensions can help you to truly understand the WHY.
