E01 堵车【The Traffic Jam】

Here are five simple expressions to cheer someone up in Chinese, along with examples:
1. 加油！ (jiā yóu!) - Keep it up!Example: 加油，你一定能成功！ (jiā yóu, nǐ yí dìng néng chéng gōng!) (Keep it up, you will surely succeed!) 
2. 没关系！ (méi guān xi!) - It's no problem!Example: 别担心，没关系！ (bié dān xīn, méi guān xi!) (Don't worry, it's no problem!) 
3. 不要灰心！ (bú yào huī xīn!) - Don't give up!Example: 只要努力，就一定会成功的，不要灰心！ (zhǐ yào nǔ lì, jiù yí dìng huì chéng gōng de, bú yào huī xīn!) (As long as you work hard, you will surely succeed, don't give up!) 
4. 别担心！ (bié dān xīn!) - Don't worry!Example: 别担心，这不是什么大事！ (bié dān xīn, zhè bú shì shén me dà shì!) (Don't worry, it's not a big deal!)
And here is the fifth example:
5. 我们一起努力！ (wǒ men yī qǐ nǔ lì!) - Let's work hard together!Example: 我们一起努力，一定会成功的！ (wǒ men yī qǐ nǔ lì, yí dìng huì chéng gōng de!) (We will succeed if we work hard together!)

There are many different varieties of American English. I was born and raised in New York, which has given me General American English pronunciation. The English that I speak has 15 vowel sounds.

Today, we will talk about the vowel sound number 2 of 15: /eɪ/ grey day. This vowel is what we call a diphthong, meaning that it’s really two vowel sounds smooshed together as one. The mouth begins very open when the sound begins, but then turns into a smile as the teeth come together.

Listen to me saying this sound and repeat: /eɪ/, /eɪ/, /eɪ/

Listen to and repeat the following single-syllable words:

day

Listen to and repeat the following multiple-syllable words:

The way you say “gray” makes my day quite okay.

ɡǔ shí hòu，yǒu yí ɡè jiào yánɡ shí de xué shēnɡ，
古时候，有一个叫杨时的学生，
tā hěn xǐ huān dú shū，xué xí fēi chánɡ nǔ lì。
他很喜欢读书，学习非常努力。
yǒu yì nián dōnɡ tiān，xià qǐ le dà xuě，tiān qì hěn lěnɡ。 
有一年冬天，下起了大雪，天气很冷。
zhī qián，yánɡ shí ɡēn lǎo shī chénɡ yí yuē dìnɡ le qǐnɡ jiào wèn tí，
之前，杨时跟老师程颐约定了请教问题，
wèi le zūn shǒu yuē dìnɡ， 
为了遵守约定，
tā hé tónɡ xué yì qǐ dǐnɡ zhe hán fēnɡ hé dà xuě， 
他和同学一起顶着寒风和大雪，
lái dào le chénɡ lǎo shī jiā。 
来到了程老师家。
chénɡ lǎo shī jiā bìnɡ bù jìn， 
程老师家并不近，
dào le lǎo shī jiā shí， 
到了老师家时，
zhènɡ shì chénɡ lǎo shī shuì wǔ jué de shí jiān。
正是程老师睡午觉的时间。
wèi le bù dān wù chénɡ lǎo shī xiū xi，
为了不耽误程老师休息，
yánɡ shí hé tónɡ xué jiù zhàn zài lǎo shī de mén qián děnɡ hòu。 
杨时和同学就站在老师的门前等候。
xuě yuè xià yuè dà，yuè lái yuè lěnɡ。 
雪越下越大，越来越冷。
tā men yě bù dònɡ yáo，
他们也不动摇，
rénɡ rán nài xīn de děnɡ zài mén wài。 
仍然耐心地等在门外。
děnɡ lǎo shī xǐnɡ le hòu， 
等老师醒了后，
fā xiàn tā men liǎnɡ rén zhàn zài xuě dì li，
发现他们两人站在雪地里，
mánɡ jiào tā men jìn wū li lái。
忙叫他们进屋里来。
lǎo shī shuō：“wǒ yǐ wéi xuě xià de nà me dà，  
老师说：“我以为雪下得那么大，
nǐ men bú huì lái le。 
你们不会来了。
méi xiǎnɡ dào nǐ men què nà me shǒu shí shǒu yuē， 
没有想到你们却那么守时守约，
zhēn shì hǎo yànɡ de！”
真是好样的！”
hòu lái rén men jiù bǎ zhè ɡe ɡù shì jiào zuò“chénɡ mén lì xuě”，  
后来人们就把这个故事叫做“程门立雪”，
lái xínɡ rónɡ rén shuō huà suàn shù、shǒu yuē。
来形容人说话算数、守约。

Vocabulary：

请教（qǐng jiào）：to consult
遵守（zūn shǒu）：abide by
耽误（dān wu）：to delay
动摇（dòng yáo）：to vacillate
耐心地（nài xīn de）：patiently

日本は都道府県、それから市によってデザインが違います。

僕が前住んでいた岡山市は桃太郎のデザインです。
