Did you know the number "1" has two different pronunciations in Chinese? 🤯 While you learned it as yī, in certain contexts, we must say yāo.✨
	
1️⃣ When to use "yī" (Standard)
Used for counting, general numbers, and math.
Chinese: 一个苹果yí gè píngguǒ
One apple
	
Chinese: 第一名 dì yī míng
First place / Number one
	
2️⃣ When to use "yāo" (Special)
Used for sequences of numbers to avoid confusion with "seven" (qī), especially over the phone or in noisy places. This is common for phone numbers, room numbers, and bus lines.
	
A. Phone Numbers (电话号码 diànhuà hàomǎ):
Chinese: 我的电话是 138... Wǒ de diànhuà shì yāo sān bā...
My phone number is 138...
	
B. Room Numbers (房间号 fángjiān hào):
Chinese: 我住在 101 室。 Wǒ zhù zài yāo líng yāo shì.

将来、日本で家が買えるように、貯金しています。

私は、電気自動車が欲しいです。
電気自動車が買えるように、貯金しています。

電気自動車が買えるように、貯金しています。
「ように」は、将来「こうなってほしい」こと、目標（もくひょう）、期待（きたい）、希望（きぼう）を言うことができます。接続できる動詞は、可能形、無意志動詞、三人称（the third person）が主語になる動詞と接続することができます。少し難しい説明ですね。
日本が話せるように、毎日勉強します。「話せる」は可能動詞です。
無意志動詞（non-volitional verb）って何ですか。たとえば、毎日ファーストフードは体によくないです。「病気にならないように、毎日きちんと食べています」。「病気になる」のに、自分の意志（will）はありませんね。
これはどうですか。「早く風邪が治るように、家で休んでいます」。これも意志がありません。
メガネがありません。字が見えません。「字を見るように、メガネをかけます」。これはどうですか。「私が字を見る」という私の意志がありますね。「字が見えるように、メガネをかけます」
では、これはどうでしょうか。「子どもが野菜を食べるように、工夫している」これは、大丈夫です。主語は子供です。私ではありません。主語の子供は三人称（the third person）です。
わかりますか。
では、これはどうですか。「試験でいい成績を残すように、がんばります」少しおかしいですね。試験で成績を残すのは、私です。私が成績を残すんです。だから、「試験でいい成績が残せるように、がんばります」と可能形にします。
「みんなの日本語」42課に「のために」が出てきます。「ように」と「ために」を比べてみてくださいね。
例文を何度も言ってみてください。
日本語を話せるように、毎日勉強します。
家が買えるように、貯金しています。

原来，在小王子的星球上就象其他所有星球上一样，有好草和坏草；
Indeed, as I learned, there were on the planet where the little prince lived–as on all planets–good plants and bad plants.
因此，也就有益草的草籽和毒草的草籽，
In consequence, there were good seeds from good plants, and bad seeds from bad plants.
可是草籽是看不见的。
But seeds are invisible.
它们沉睡在泥土里，直到其中的一粒忽然想要苏醒过来
They sleep deep in the heart of the earth's darkness, until some one among them is seized with the desire to awaken.
于是它就伸展开身子，开始腼腆地朝着太阳长出一棵秀丽可爱的小嫩苗。
Then this little seed will stretch itself and begin– timidly at first–to push a charming little sprig inoffensively upward toward the sun.
如果是小萝卜或是玫瑰的嫩苗，就让它去自由地生长。
If it is only a sprout of radish or the sprig of a rose-bush, one would let it grow wherever it might wish.
如果是一棵坏苗，一旦被辨认出来，就应该马上把它拔掉。
But when it is a bad plant, one must destroy it as soon as possible, the very first instant that one recognizes it.
因为在小王子的星球上，有些非常可怕的种子
Now there were some terrible seeds on the planet that was the home of the little prince;
这就是猴面包树的种子。
and these were the seeds of the baobab.
在那里的泥土里，这种种子多得成灾。
The soil of that planet was infested with them.
而一棵猴面包树苗，假如你拔得太迟，就再也无法把它清除掉。
A baobab is something you will never, never be able to get rid of if you attend to it too late. It spreads over the entire planet.
它就会盘踞整个星球。
It bores clear through it with its roots.
它的树根能把星球钻透，如果星球很小，而猴面包树很多，它就把整个星球搞得支离破碎。
And if the planet is too small, and the baobabs are too many, they split it in pieces.
“这是个纪律问题。”小王子后来向我解释道。
"It is a question of discipline," the little prince said to me later on.
当你早上梳洗完毕以后，必须仔细地给星球梳洗，
"When you've finished your own toilet in the morning, then it is time to attend to the toilet of your planet, just so, with the greatest care.
必须规定自己按时去拔掉猴面包树苗。
You must see to it that you pull up regularly all the baobabs,
这种树苗小的时候与玫瑰苗差不多，一旦可以把它们区别开的时候，就要把它拔掉。
at the very first moment when they can be distinguished from the rosebushes which they resemble so closely in their earliest youth.
“这是一件非常乏味的工作”，小王子说，“但很容易。”
