You may already know that that word "inform" means to tell someone something. To give information to someone. For instance, "thanks for informing me about the change of venue". What you might not know is that it can also be used to mean "influence something" as in "my work is informed by years of experience" Or maybe "the decisions that we make are always informed by our company culture. 퇴근길이었다.
유하는 늘 그렇듯 이어폰을 꽂고 익숙한 골목길을 걸었다.
벽돌 담 너머로 고양이 한 마리가 느릿하게 지나가고, 오래된 가로등 아래엔 국화꽃 한 송이가 놓여 있었다.

그런데 오늘은, 누군가 그 꽃을 들고 서 있었다.
수트 차림의 낯선 남자. 창백한 얼굴, 그러나 눈빛은 또렷했다.

그는 유하를 보며 말했다.
“유하 씨 맞죠?”

“저를 아세요?”

그는 국화꽃을 유하에게 내밀며 말했다.
“이 꽃, 유하 씨를 위해 준비했어요. 처음 뵙지만… 오늘이 시작이었으면 좋겠네요.”

처음 만나는 사람이, 내 이름을 안다?
그날 밤, 유하는 잠들지 못했다.
그리고 다음 날, 그는 정말 다시 나타났다.

It was on her way home from work.
As always, Yuha walked down the familiar alley with her earphones in.
A stray cat sauntered past the brick wall, and beneath the old streetlamp stood a single chrysanthemum.

But today, someone was holding that flower.
A man in a suit, pale but with piercing eyes.

He looked at her and said,
“You’re Yuha, right?”

“Do I know you?”

He held out the flower to her.
“This flower… I prepared it for you. It's our first meeting, but I hope it’s the beginning.”

A complete stranger knew her name.

That night, Yuha couldn’t sleep.
And the next day—just as he said—he appeared again.

 길고양이 = stray cat

국화= chrysanthemum 

꿰뚫는 듯한 눈빛= piercing eyes 

다시 나타나다= appear again

Sofía: ¡Uf! Casi me mata, pero lo derroté.

Alex: ¡Bien hecho! Ahora prueba esa habilidad especial, presiona ambos gatillos a la vez.

Sofía: ¡Wow! ¡Hice un súper combo!

Alex: ¡Se ve increíble! La animación está brutal.

Sofía: Sí, y los gráficos son impresionantes.

Alex: Creo que necesito este juego en mi vida.

Sofía: ¡Jajaja! Yo también. ¿Cuánto cuesta?

Alex: Veamos… ¡Ay, no! 70 dólares.

Sofía: ¡Auch! Tendré que ahorrar un poco más…

Alex: O esperar a que baje de precio. Mientras tanto, ¡sigamos jugando!

Students regularly ask me, "How do I know what comes after a verb?" If a verb takes another verb as a complement, it is usually either a full infinitive or a gerund (e.g., "to do" or "doing").  Bare infinitives (e.g., "do") can only be complements for a small number of verbs, but these verbs are very common.  In this article, I take a look at some verbs that take bare infinitives as complements.
