Description
Thirty sentences make the difference between being handled as a tourist and being treated as a guest in Kerala. This guide is for the visitor, perhaps on a first trip of two weeks. The sentences come in the order you will need them: arrival, auto rickshaws and buses, directions, eating, shopping, the room, and getting help. Then five sentences that warm any exchange, practical notes guidebooks get wrong about time, the monsoon, shoes and small change, a fifteen-sentence drill, and the six phrases to learn if you fly tomorrow.
