Have you ever heard the following phrase before: "I have a gut feeling".  How would you describe this feeling? When do we usually use this expression?
This expression is often used to describe an intuitive or instinctive sense or belief about something, even when there may not be concrete evidence or logical reasoning to support it. The feeling is often described as a sensation in the stomach or abdomen, hence the reference to the "gut."
People commonly use this expression when they have a strong sense or intuition about a situation, decision, or person, but they may not be able to articulate specific reasons for their feelings. It's a way of acknowledging and trusting one's instincts or intuition, which can sometimes be influenced by subtle cues or information that may not be consciously recognized.

Here are some useful words and expressions:

1. Curiosity killed the cat : This is an idiom that suggests being too inquisitive or nosy can lead to trouble or unpleasant consequences. It's often used to caution against excessive curiosity.

2.To grip on something: This phrase means to firmly hold onto or grasp something, either physically or metaphorically. It implies a strong and secure hold.

3.To trip: In a physical sense, to trip means to stumble or lose one's balance, often resulting in a brief fall. In a figurative sense, it can also mean to make a mistake or encounter an obstacle.

4. To be surrounded by: This expression indicates that something or someone is positioned all around a particular place or person. It implies being encircled or encompassed from all sides.

5.Hissing sound: A hissing sound is a noise characterized by a prolonged "s" or "h" sound. It is often produced by air or steam escaping through a small opening, or by certain animals as a warning or defensive signal.

Sofía: ¡Bueno, hora de cocinar! ¿Estás listo, Diego?

Diego: ¡Listísimo! ¿Qué vamos a preparar?

Sofía: Vamos a hacer pasta con salsa de tomate casera y pollo al horno.

Diego: ¡Eso suena delicioso! ¿Por dónde empezamos?

Sofía: Primero, pon agua a hervir para la pasta. Yo voy a cortar los tomates para la salsa.

Diego: ¿Cuánta sal le pongo al agua?

Sofía: Solo una pizca, no mucha. La sal ayuda a que la pasta tenga más sabor.

Diego: ¡Listo! Ahora, ¿qué hago con el pollo?

Sofía: Tienes que sazonarlo. Usa sal, pimienta, ajo en polvo y un poco de orégano.

Diego: ¿Así está bien?

Sofía: Sí, perfecto. Ahora ponlo en una bandeja y mételo al horno a 180 grados.

Diego: ¡Hecho! ¿Cómo vas con la salsa?

Sofía: Ya casi. Los tomates están cocidos, ahora los voy a licuar con ajo y cebolla.

Diego: ¡Huele increíble! ¿Cuánto tiempo tiene que cocinarse la salsa?

Sofía: Unos 15 minutos a fuego lento para que espese.

Diego: La pasta ya está lista. ¿La escurro?

Sofía: Sí, pero guarda un poco del agua para mezclarla con la salsa.

Diego: ¿En serio? No sabía que se hacía así.

Sofía: Sí, ayuda a que la salsa se adhiera mejor a la pasta.

Diego: ¡Genial! Creo que el pollo también está listo.

Sofía: ¡Perfecto! Entonces servimos y… ¡a disfrutar nuestra cena casera!

People who travel a lot will know the feeling — you've just landed in a country on the other side of the world, ready to explore and see the sights, but you're too tired to do anything!

Jet lag is usually linked with travel and changing time zones. But a new study has found that even small changes to our daily schedules can change our sleeping patterns.

And it's not just sleep that gets affected by a disrupted schedule — our bodies work differently when our daily patterns change.

The study, published in iScience, looked at how our bodies respond to a five-hour time change — similar to the kind of jet lag you'd feel after traveling from New York to London, for example.

It looked at people's circadian rhythm — our body's natural clock that controls when we sleep, when different hormones are released, and how our bodies use energy.

During the study, scientists observed 14 people in a lab for eight days.

On the first two days, the participants followed their normal daily schedules. But from the third day, the participants' meals, sleep and light exposure were changed to five hours later than normal.

The researchers tested the participants' blood and checked their digestion, energy use, and levels of melatonin — a hormone that helps control sleep by making you feel tired when it gets dark — to see how their bodies reacted to the time change.

The results showed that the five-hour time change made digestion slower, changed blood sugar levels, and affected how the body used fat. The body also burned less energy from food.

These things started to go back to normal after two or three days as the body adjusted to the new schedule.

One of the study's researchers, Jonathan Johnston, told StudyFinds this shows how sticking to a regular schedule can make a big difference to our health.
