Useful lessons over perfect lessons

I believe that many people, especially geek ones (like developers , statistician, etc ), sometimes need to deliver message to non-technical ones who are in different field. They may struggle communicating to each other.

Most people might understand that Public Speaking is talking on stage towards 100 or 1000 audiences. I, however, argue that it is formal, face-to-face talking of a single person to a group of ones. Though, I will, in this blog, focus on presentation.

There are two main types of communication, which are:

Verbal Communication such as controlling Tone of Voice
and
Non Verbal Communication like Body Language

Speakers, who can control their tones of voice, could manipulate listeners’ feelings and emotion. Most human do not know what type of their voices is, its nature and how can it be exploit. 

It is a good opportunity to share my knowledge and you may adapt it, listen your own voice, and adapt it for the sake of better communication.

Job Interview Preparation | Build Strong Communication Under Pressure

Job Preparation. Tip 8. How to be more persuasive in meetings, job interviews etc.?

DOCTOR: What seems to be the problem?
CATHY: Well, I have a bad cough and a sore throat. I also have 
a headache.
DOCTOR: How long have you had these symptoms?
CATHY: About three days now. And I’m really tired, too.
DOCTOR: Hmm. It sounds like you’ve got the flu. Take aspirin
every four hours and get plenty of rest. Make sure you 
drink lots of fluids. Call me if you’re still sick next week.
CATHY: OK, thanks

LANGUAGE NOTES 
• What seems to be the problem? means “What is the problem?” Notice that the intonation 
falls at the end of the question. The doctor wants information, not a “yes/no” answer.
• Well is used as an introductory word. Notice how the vowel is drawn out, to sound like 
“Weeeeeell …” This can be used as a way to “buy time” while you think about what you 
want to say next.
• A bad cough … a sore throat … a headache: Notice the article “a” before each symptom.
• About is used to mean “more or less.” It’s used here to give an estimate of time.
• Take aspirin … get rest … Make sure … Call me: Notice the doctor uses the simple tense 
here to give instructions. This is the imperative form of the verb.
• Still sick means “continue to be sick.”

オランダにあるFairphoneという会社はユーザーが自分で修理できるスマホを開発しています。今まではスマホが壊れたら買い換える人が多かったと思います。しかし、自分で壊れたところだけを取り替えることができるようになると、資源の無駄を最低限にすることができます。さらにこの会社のスマホは構造が簡単なので、特別な知識がなくても自分で壊れたパーツを取り替えることができます。
ちなみに最近、アップルも電子機器を修理する知識のあるユーザー向けに交換用のパーツの販売をアメリカで開始すると発表しました。
私はスマホだけでなく他の電子機器も自分で修理できるようになればいいと思います。

修理（しゅうり）する：repair, fix
開発（かいはつ）する：かいはつする　develop
取り替える：とりかえる　replace
資源：しげん　resource
無駄：むだ　waste
最低限（さいていげん）にする：minimize
構造：こうぞう　structure
特別（とくべつ）な知識（ちしき）：special knowledge
電子機器：でんしきき　electronic device
交換用（こうかんよう）のパーツ：　parts for replacement
