For example, many English learners tend to struggle with correctly pronouncing -ed endings. But don't worry! Once you know the rules, it will be much easier to remember š

There areĀ three ways to pronounce the -ed ending in English. The pronunciation is generally determined by the final sound (not letter) of the infinitive.
1ļøā£ For words ending in aĀ /d/ or /t/ sound, the -ed ending will make the /ÉŖd/ sound, which will result in an additional syllable.
2ļøā£ For words ending in aĀ /f/, /k/, /p/, /s/, /Ź/, or /tŹ/ sound, the -ed ending will make the unvoiced /t/ sound.
3ļøā£ For words ending inĀ all other sounds (including vowels), the -ed ending will make the voiced /d/ sound.
