If one is on a long trip (or journey), particularly one that is monotonous, we will stop somewhere and relax, stretch our legs, eat, act. All of these short stops break the trip into shorter time frames. For example: We are going to visit our grandchildren. It is a 18 hour drive. We will stop at a National Park, and then have lunch to “break up the trip.” I hope this helps. Ciao.
