Hi
Can you tell me if these adjectives can go together with 'rule? Lenient rule, lax rule, permissive rule ? I know 'strict rule ' is fine and I need the opposite. Thank you

Thank you very much. I knew it was complex . I had never seen the adjectives with rule. Thanks a lot.

- Strict rule| has no single-word adjective opposite that collocates naturally with rule.
- Lenient" and "lax" go with people/systems — e.g., lenient teacher, lax enforcement — not with "rule" itself
- Permissive | describes environments or parenting styles, not rules
- Best opposites of "strict rule": flexible rule, loose rule, soft rule
- Guideline" or "recommendation" can replace "rule" entirely when the rule is not strongly enforced.
