In Portugal, vowels are often swallowed or reduced, which makes it sound much faster and harder to follow. Vocabulary Some everyday words are completely different. A "bus" is "ônibus" in Brazil and "autocarro" in Portugal. A "train" is "trem" in Brazil and "comboio" in Portugal. Formality Brazilians use "você" for almost everything. In Portugal, "tu" is far more common in casual conversation. The good news?
