I took for granted all the times. That I thought It would last somehow . This is strech of a 1980's song. I totally understand what he meant when he uses the expression "take for granted". I happens all the time in relationships. What bother me in this part is when he uses "that". Would It be better to use (when) or use nothing instead? Ex: I took for granted all the times. I thought It would last somehow.

"It" does not belong there. I don't think it's in the song. There should be no period after "times". "That" is not the beginning of a new sentence. It is only the first word of a new line. "That" is natural. It's the same as "I liked all the apples that I ate last night".

All three ways are fine. All the times that I... = All the times when I... = All the times I...
