June 9th Thursday Cloudy By reading we enrich the mind; by conversation we polish it. This morning I asked my teacher some questions. I took a picture of my walnuts and asked what was the difference between the pecan and walnut or are they the same? Teacher said pecan has 2 pronunciations, a northern dialect and a southern dialect. He said that I pronounced it using the northern dialect and he uses the southern dialect. Pecan and walnut are different nuts. Teacher also said English walnut are grown almost everywhere in the world. China produces the most English walnuts followed by the United States. They are healthy and good for me. But black walnuts has robust flavor, has a very hard shell and the meat is hard to get out. English walnut has a much thinner shell and the meat is easy to get out. Pecan are small but has a very flavorful taste. They are used a lot in cooking, cookies and pies 🥧. There is a love ❤️ for pecan pies in the United States. 80% of pecans are grown in the United States and 15% grown in Mexico. Like the pecan, black walnut is predominantly grown in the Midwest, pacific cost and eastern half of the United States. It was introduced in Europe in 1600’s. The teacher made me appreciate the differences by showing his pictures of ice-creams made by himself.❤️❤️ I talked with one of my student's dad at the gate of the school after school. He told me that his son had been officially enrolled at Zhengzhou No. 54 Middle School. He was been sent to the key class at that school. I was excited about the news. Congratulations! Hope more students will receive their admission notices.
