Is the following sentence correct?
I get excited about the idea of joining your team.

It's grammatically correct, but if it's for a job opportunity, and you want it to sound slightly more professional/less casual, I'd say:
"I'm excited about joining your team."
"I'm excited for the opportunity to join your team."
Or you could say "the team," also. As it's written is fine too, but it sounds slightly more casual or almost playful.

I agree with the other comments but want to add one thing: while you are learning English try, as much as possible, to avoid using the word "get". It has thousands of uses but there is almost always a better word. "Get" makes it easy to speak English without thinking too much. If you avoid "get", your vocabulary will expand and you will sound more thoughtful.
