Can somebody tell me that what’s the difference between “furniture “ and “furnishing”

Furniture would be the noun .
(Example: The only furniture in her new house was a couch.)
Furnishing would normally be used as a verb.
(Example: They were furnishing the house with brand new furniture from IKEA.)

Furniture refers to specific pieces Of furniture for example a sofa or a chair whereas furnishing is a general term for all the furniture that makes the house comfortable to live in
